Book Haul - Jordan, Sanderson, Bennett, Brett, Mack

This was a great week for a nice haul of books. I really just want to drop everything and read...for like a year. I'm sure I'm unique in this wish.

I don't have time to do the usual post with synopses, so here's the list:

-Star Trek: The Next Generation: Cold Equations III: The Body Electric by David Mack
-The Daylight War (Demon Cycle #3) by Peter V. Brett [currently reading]
-American Elsewhere by Robert Jackson Bennett
-A Memory of Light (Wheel of Time #14 and final book!) by Robert Jordan and Brandon Sanderson - This is actually a giveaway win instead of ARC like the rest from a great site - http://bestfantasybooks.com. If you like lists, and seriously who doesn't, check it out.

  1. I didn't realise The Daylight War was so hefty! I read it on the Kindle which is obviously deceptive. It's a great read, although for me the story doesn't actually progress that far.

  2. Yeah lots of Inevera so far although it's really intriguing. I think Brett wins the award for most amount of non-graphic references to the female anatomy. And this is the UK version from Harper Voyager, I think the US version is a bit thinner although it's still 800 pages.

  3. I need to get on both the Brett and Jordan trains. I've been hearing a ton of good things about both of the latest books and I've not read a single word by either.

  4. Yes you do! I think you may really like The Warded Man. One of the things that got me, I recently realized is the same reason I like zombie books. In this world, demons come out at night and you are essentially trapped behind your wards...as long as they're good wards because they look for weaknesses. I don't want to ruin anything, so I'll leave it at that, but there are similarities. :)

  5. Niiice, on book 9 of the Wheel of Time series, still some way to go yet! So many fantasy series to read and not enough time! A Memory of Light looks huge, that will take me like a month with the amount of free time I have.

  6. I'm only on book 7! I really need to get back on it and I know what you mean about limited time. I just took the bar and have twin 6 month olds. :)
